With a passion for educating children and learning, LULAC’s highly qualified teachers welcome you to their classrooms!
My name is Yamilette Diaz, and I am proud to be part of LULAC Head Start in Fay Miller Center. My current position is Head Teacher. I am from Caguas, Puerto Rico, and I attended Edic College to earn an associate degree in medical sonography. I also attended Instituto de Banca y Comercio to earn a certificate in Comprehensive banking. I'm enrolled in Charter Oak State College and have 55 credits in early childhood education toward my associate degree and already enroll for my bachelor’s in early childhood education. In addition, I have a CDA, which certifies me to teach early childhood.
My love for working with our youngest students is unwavering! Therefore, I decided to work in early childhood education. I enjoy imparting knowledge and love to kids. I hope to sow seeds that will never wither in every student as a teacher. I am privileged to embrace the challenge of supporting each child's growth in all spheres, including social and emotional, language, physical, cognitive, mathematics, literacy, etc. Furthermore, to foster this growth in a joyful, positive environment, I work to build a community of learners.
I have three handsome boys of my own. I enjoy watching my children participate in sports, especially basketball and football. In addition, I like to spend time with my family, cook, listen to music, relax at the beach, camping, rollerblade, and ride a bike.
