Ruth Vizcarrondo
Head Teacher

"My name is Ruth Vizcarrondo. I am a teacher here at FLC. I have worked in early childhood for the past Eighteen years in a variety of capacities.I really believe that working with children is my calling!

As a teacher working with children up to age 3, I am required to teach the most basic social skills by focusing on play-centered learning and creativity rather than intense curricular standards. I make sure that the activities vary and are mainly focused on teaching children to share, express themselves, communicate and collaborate well with others, follow their curiosity and encourage the development of their language and vocabulary. As a Head Teacher, I supervise, educate and inspire children every day.

I continue to educate myself to find the best way to stay abreast of current best practices and continue the quest to be an effective and qualified Infant/Toddler Teacher.

In my free time from work I enjoy spending time with my family. As a family we enjoy family nights and family vacations.

I love working at LULAC HEAD START with the best children, families and staff! We mean it when we say we're a family!"

I am the Teacher in Room B. I grew up in Fair Haven. I have three wonderful children of my own. At a young age, I realized I loved working with children and decided to pursue a career in Early Childhood Education. Since 2016 I have been working at Lulac Head Start Inc. I have an Infant and Toddlers CDA and a Preschool CDA. I am currently pursuing my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. As an Infant and Toddler teacher, my role is to maintain a safe, fun and interactive classroom that is clean and organized. "Teachers who love teaching, teach children to love learning."
